Chiara Lombardi
Currently working as marine ecologist at the Marine Environment Research Centre ENEA of La Spezia (Italy), I took my degree in Biology in 2004 and my PhD in Experimental Ecology in 2008 at the University of Pavia.
My main research focus is the investigation of marine bryozoans' - calcifying marine invertebrates -biomineralization processes and life-history responses, and the identification of their role (resilience or exctintion?) under mutiple global environmental drivers e.g. warming, acidification, hypoxia, etc.
I work on different ecosystem engineers e.g. bryozoans and coralline algae, mainly from the Mediterranean Sea, using in field experiments under natural and CO2 vents areas and in the laboratory, in order to assess multiple responses, from species to ecosystems, under climate change drivers.
