Laboratory Technologies for the Safeguard of Architectural and Cultural Heritage
The Laboratory performs research activity, innovation and technological transfer aimed to the application of innovative anti-seismic systems to protect industrial plants (chemical and nuclear) and strategical buildings (schools, hospitals), both new and existing, also belonging to the cultural heritage. It also performs activities on prevention of natural (earthquakes and landslides) and anthropic risks and implements systems for the mitigation on their effects on buildings through the development of adequate strategies for resilience increment and vulnerability reduction, also using monitoring, remote sensing and the performance of on-site tests and non-destructive diagnostics. Finally, the Lab. provides consultancies and specific helps to support the Public Administration and the Civil Protection during the emergency and post-emergency phases after disasters.
